Martin Scorsese in Talks for George Washington Biopic

Martin Scorsese

The upcoming biopic of George Washington The General could be directed by Martin Scorsese, known for his violent biographical dramas Goodfellas, Casino, Raging Bull and The Wolf of Wall Street.

Red Granite Pictures, co-founded by Riza Aziz and Joey McFarland in 2010, previously had Noah director Darren Aronofsky attached to direct the film, although he has since departed the project.

The General will take a “gritty” perspective on the story of George Washington and the Revolutionary War. The script is written by Assassin’s Creed writers Bill Collage and Adam Cooper.

Riza Aziz and Joey McFarland are confirmed to produce the biopic.
